From grantmaking to investing. Our learning and listening on the ground points us to problems and gaps. Most of the time, solutions for those challenges are community based and funded through grants. Sometimes, a market based solution has the potential for faster, bigger, long-term impact. When we see opportunities like that, we invest in them. Below are a few examples.

COSM

COSM is combining Ultrasound, Data Science and 3D Printing to create Gynethotics, the world’s first custom gynecological prosthetic, to manage pelvic floor disorders so more women can live and age with dignity and grace. Because every woman is different and pelvic floor disorders, such as prolapse and incontinence, are common, growing, and underserved.

Amplitude Venture Capital is a Canadian VC Fund aiming to build globally competitive Canadian healthcare companies. The fund is focused on developing platform companies based on outstanding Canadian precision medicine innovation.

Aunt Bertha picks up where Uncle Sam leaves off. This Austin based company has done an incredible job of linking people in need with resources in their community. It also helps hospitals refer and patients to community services and track social determinants of health.

GotCare is a Toronto based health technology startup that aims to improve home care accessibility in Canada.
