Canadian Atlas of Palliative Care: British Columbia Edition

WHO

Bringing the right care to the right place starts with knowing where the gaps are. That’s why Pallium Canada, together with McMaster University’s Palliative Care Division and the BC Centre for Palliative Care, set out to create the British Columbia edition of the Canadian Atlas of Palliative Care. With support from philanthropic partners, including The Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem Knights Hospitaller Vancouver; Y.P. Heung Foundation; Conconi Family Foundation; Saint Mary’s Health Foundation of New Westminster; Foord Family Foundation; and The Hamber Foundation, this vital resource is helping map the province’s palliative care landscape, so more people can receive compassionate care when and where they need it most.

WHAT

Funded entirely through philanthropic support, the B.C. edition of the Canadian Atlas of Palliative Care shines a light on the state of care in our province. This interactive tool brings together detailed information on services, policies, and education, painting a clear picture of what’s available and where the gaps remain. With this knowledge, we can work towards a future where every person in B.C. has access to the compassionate palliative care they deserve.

WHY

Why this? By offering evidence-driven insights, the atlas is a powerful tool to inform meaningful action and drive improvements in care. The tool can be used to understand where palliative care in B.C is working and where there are opportunities for improvement.

WILD CARD
