Conconi Family Biodevice Foundry

Conconi Family Biodevice Foundry opened its doors in November 2025 at the Gordon B. Schrum School of Biomedical Engineering (SBME) at the University of British Columbia. The SBME is Canada’s first purpose-built biomedical engineering facility bridging engineering, medicine, and biology. The School of Biomedical Engineering was established with the goal of transforming health outcomes, and the Biodevice Foundry is one of its core facilities.

Donate today to support the transformation of healthcare tomorrow.

In its current form, the Conconi Family Biodevice Foundry has the capacity to:

1. Rapidly prototype and develop micro and nano devices

2. Rethink how we test and develop therapeutics

3. Facilitate the next generation of cancer and immunotherapy research

4. Localize the life-science pipeline and talent

And this is just the beginning…
………………….
The Biodevice Foundry is a shared facility meant to support faculty members, undergraduate and graduate students, as well as a range of industry partners. In its first 9 months of operations, the Conconi Family Biodevice Foundry has supported 51 scientists, 21 projects, and 4 start-ups.
…………….
The creation of the Biodevice Foundry would not have been possible without the sizable investment from provincial and federal government sources, but to accelerate innovation, we need a big leap forward. There is no shortage of healthcare challenges, and so the Conconi Family Biodevice Foundry was built to catalyze solutions – your donation would go a long way in bringing these solutions to life.
